He is a player with a four-year experience in particular in the Bundesliga but also in Germany's second division. With FC Nuremburg he has already achieved promotion. As a central defender Dominic is not only a physically strong player but he also has the required playing ability. He thirsts for this challenge at our club. Therefore, we are confident that Dominic will become a cornerstone of our defence.'
Dominic Maroh about his new role at 1. FC Cologne: 'I know the situation at 1. FC Cologne from my own personal experience and I am very excited to play for this traditional club. Bundesliga experience with Nuremburg
Dominic Maroh moved from the SSV Reutlingen junior team to 1. FC Nuremburg. The 1.86 metres tall defender debuted in the Bundesliga for head coach Michael Oenning's team in the match versus FC Schalke 04 (1-2) in August 2009. In the second division he debuted for the club in November 2008 against FSV Frankfurt (0-0). As a whole, he appeared in 56 Bundesliga matches (2 goals) for the Franconians as well as in 20 second league games (1 goal). In the summer of 2009 he promoted with 1. FC Nuremburg into the Bundesliga. Dominic Maroh had 23 Bundesliga caps for Nuremburg in the 2011/12 campaign including 19 starting berths.
